ACADEMIA
My academic work has always run parallel to my practice. I was awarded the Embassy Scholarship at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama for my MA in Actor Training and Coaching, my thesis explored how yogic practice can support an actors work on Shakespeare. I completed my PhD at the Guildford School of Acting, funded by the Doctoral College at the University of Surrey. My doctoral thesis is titled ‘Shakespeare’s role in Actor Training: Balancing systems with the individual’. It highlights how the lived experience of the performer is intrinsic to their work and compares how approaches to Shakespeare consider the actor in their system.
EDUCATION
My actor training was at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (formerly Birmingham School of Acting), and for 10 years I worked as an actor in the UK and Europe on stage and radio. In 2010, I spent a summer at École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. I also completed my yoga teacher training in 2019 in Rishikesh, India. I trained as an acting coach at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and completed my PhD at the Guildford School of Acting in 2026.
